Imitators are everywhere, though perhaps nowhere more prevalent within the automobile industry.

The Jeep is the original off-road vehicle. Developed by the Army, deployed into the battlefields of the world, tried and tested (literally) under fire and threat of immediate harm. It emerged from that cauldron and found its way onto American roads, in the process becoming one of the true icons of the United States' manufacturing prowess and invention.
